What is AI Visibility?

AI Visibility measures how often your brand appears in AI-generated answers across the platforms your customers are using right now.

Overview

Your AI Visibility score is the percentage of AI responses that mention your brand when Surva.ai queries each AI platform for your tracked keywords. It is calculated across five platforms - ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews - and rolled up into a single overall score.

As AI becomes the primary way people discover products, services, and brands, appearing in AI answers is no longer optional. A brand that is not mentioned in AI responses is invisible to a fast-growing share of its audience.

Higher AI Visibility means more AI platforms recognize and reference your brand when users ask questions relevant to your industry.

How AI Visibility is calculated

For each tracked keyword, Surva.ai queries each AI platform and checks whether your brand appears in the response. The score is:

AI Visibility (%) = (Responses mentioning your brand / Total responses queried) x 100

Scores are tracked per platform and per keyword, so you can pinpoint exactly where you are visible and where you have gaps. For example, if Surva.ai queries 10 AI responses for a keyword and your brand appears in 4 of them, your AI Visibility for that keyword is 40%.

Platform scores are averaged to produce your overall AI Visibility score across all tracked keywords and platforms.
