Plan and Create AI-Optimized Content
The Content Planner is your hub for creating, managing, and publishing content optimized for AI visibility. Generate articles with AI assistance and schedule them for publication.
Accessing Content Planner
Navigate to Content Tools > Content Planner in the sidebar.
Content Planner Tabs
The Content Planner has three main tabs:
- Create - Start new content with AI assistance
- Articles - View and manage all your articles
- Calendar - See scheduled content on a calendar view
Creating New Content
To create a new article:
- Click the Create tab
- Select a prompt to write about (or enter a custom topic)
- Choose your content type (blog post, guide, comparison, etc.)
- Set your target word count
- Add any specific instructions or angles
- Click Generate Article
AI Content Generation
Surva.ai uses advanced AI to generate content that is:
- Optimized for AI citation
- Structured for easy extraction by AI
- Written in your brand voice (if configured)
- Fact-checked and properly sourced
Content Credits
Article generation uses credits based on your plan:
- Starter - 5 articles/month
- Growth - 25 articles/month
- Business - 100 articles/month
Credit usage varies by article length and AI model used.
Editing Articles
After generation, you can:
- Edit the content directly in the editor
- Add or remove sections
- Update headings and formatting
- Add images and media
- Optimize meta descriptions
Article States
Articles move through several states:
- Draft - Work in progress
- Ready - Complete and ready to publish
- Scheduled - Set to publish at a future date
- Published - Live on your CMS
Scheduling Content
To schedule an article:
- Open the article editor
- Click Schedule
- Select the publish date and time
- Choose your CMS destination (if connected)
- Confirm scheduling
CMS Integration
Content Planner integrates with:
- WordPress (via REST API)
- Webflow (via API)
- Custom CMS (via webhook)

Content Calendar
The Calendar tab shows:
- Scheduled articles by date
- Draft articles (unscheduled)
- Published articles
